Pico Laser · Pigment and Tone

What to expect

Picosecond pulses shatter pigment into particles the body clears on its own. On Thai skin the settings matter more than the machine, so the doctor sets the energy for your phototype rather than a fixed programme.

  1. Phototype assessment and a patch pass on a discreet area if this is your first session.
  2. Full-face pass at the energy set for your skin · 10 to 15 minutes.
  3. Cooling, barrier cream, and sunscreen applied before you leave.

Aftercare

  • Sunscreen every morning without exception · pigment returns fastest to unprotected skin.
  • No acids or retinol for five days.
  • Expect a light coffee-ground darkening for a few days before it clears.

Questions patients ask

Is it safe for melasma?
With low-energy settings and a course, yes. Melasma is managed rather than cured, and sun discipline decides the outcome.
How many sessions?
Typically five, three to four weeks apart, reviewed after the third.
Does it hurt?
It reads as a warm rubber-band flick. Most patients need no numbing.
